WORKSHOP: Sew a Trillium Dress - 11/11

Sew your own dress or top using the Trillium Sewing Pattern. Learn how to sew darts, pockets, pleats, elastic shirring, seam finishes and more in this workshop at Rae's studio in downtown Ann Arbor. Arrive with your pieces pre-cut; optional BONUS cutting sessions will be offered at the studio on Monday evening, October 16, 7-9p or Friday November 10 7-9p or cut your pieces out at home. 

This is a 5 hour in-person workshop taught by Rae Hoekstra.

DATE: Saturday November 11, 2023
TIME: 10a - 3:30p (1 session workshop with lunch break)

You will need: Trillium Sewing Pattern and fabric (precut your fabric pieces out prior to arrival), ~1/2 yard lightweight fusible interfacing for facings, your sewing machine and tools (see list below), coordinating thread. SKILL LEVEL:
Confident beginner or Intermediate: you know how to sew and keep a seam allowance, are comfortable operating your sewing machine without assistance, and have sewn basic garments before such as pajama pants or a basic top. This is not a learn-to-sew class for first time sewists.

TOOL LIST (YOU BRING)

• Sewing machine with straight stitches & zigzag stitches (or contact Rae to rent a studio machine)
• Pins or quilter's clips
• Fabric shears, smaller scissors or snips for trimming/clipping
• Seam ripper
• Chalk or water soluble fabric marker
• clear quilter's ruler

Rae provides irons and ironing boards and table space for each student. 

Number of participants: 4-6, age 16+ are welcome to participate. 

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Classes are taught be me - Rae Hoekstra - at my studio in downtown Ann Arbor. Details for accessing the building as well as final confirmation that the class will run will be emailed to you at least 48 hours before class begins. Your class fee will be fully refunded if we do not have enough students to run the class.

While we do understand that last minute schedule changes and emergencies do occur, your class fee reserves your spot and if we cannot fill your spot you will receive a 50% refund for cancellations at least 48 hours before the class session begins, with no refunds for cancellations less than 48 hours prior to class. If you are sick, please contact Rae ASAP and we will work something out. Thanks for your understanding!
